Modes are derived, never picked: charging > camp > drive, with a physical
act (key, plug, camp switch) doing the switching, exactly as in the car.
Click the trigger for Diagnostics or to dismiss a message; hold it 2s on
Diagnostics for the fault log, hold again there to clear it. Key OFF while
parked shows SHUTTING DOWN, then the dash goes dark with the 12V side.
Unplugging the CAN loom brings up NO CONNECTION after 5s.

Gear is PRND on the wire; S is the Sport flag and replaces D in the bar.

Live Values
Charge and camp kW apply once the handshake reaches CHARGING; the countdown
shows CALCULATING until the rate has held steady for 5s (the settle gate),
and the kW readout is damped so it cannot flicker at a rounding boundary.
Sign is never assumed from the mode: enter a NEGATIVE camp kW for a stint
running net-positive (solar or a generator on the plug), or a negative
charge kW for a session drawing more than the charger supplies.
